I won't pretend that we started it, but the Ptolemaic
Terrascope's preoccupation with Japanese rock music certainly predated that
of most European and American fanzines. The following interview with Masaki
Batoh of Ghost, first published in Ptolemaic Terrascope issue 14 in
July 1993, around the time of Ghost's second LP release, now appears
excruciatingly naiive given all that's gone down since - but it's an
important document for all that, and one which is well overdue for seeing
the cold light of day once again. No data files exist from this period so
I've scanned the pages from my sole remaining copy of Ptolemaic Terrascope
Volume 4 Number 2. - Phil McMullen |
