Time-Lag Records will be releasing a very special five 7inch set in conjunction with TERRASTOCK 5. The set will feature one full 7" each by : THE IDITAROD, STONE BREATH, CHARALAMBIDES, BARDO POND, and SONIC YOUTH. Each 7" will come in its own letterpressed uni-pak style gatefold sleeve. For those who buy the full set, there's a die-cut wrap-around box to hold them all. All exclusive tracks (and really good ones!). A numbered edition of only 500. These will be first available at T5, and are expected to go quite fast.
The discounted group rate at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge has sold out. If you're still interested in trying to book a room there at our rate of $129/night, email Aamir . There's a small chance that a room will open up.
Other hotels in the area include
For those on a budget, the Boston Hostel, part of American Youth Hostels, is VERY close to Axis, and charges $35/night.
Thanks, and we hope to see you there!

JULY 26, 2002 UPDATE: We regret to announce that, due to an unforseen and unavoidable conflict, THE ELECTRIC PRUNES will not appear at Terrastock 5. The band expressed their deep regret at making this decision, and we understand. We will be putting someone special in the Prunes' place, so keep the excitement up!
All other systems are go, and we're still looking forward to seeing you in October.
AUGUST 21, 2002 UPDATE: Terrastock 5 is doing far beyond our expectations! We're pleased beyond measure and extremely excited to watch the weekend unfold. There are a few big announcements we need to tell you about, though!
1. CHANGE OF VENUE
The Middle East is loved by many for its unique atmosphere, and has earned its special reputation with good reason. Sadly, technical and logistical issues have appeared recently that would limit everyone's enjoyment, and we want the festival to be comfortable for the bands and fans. As a result, we made the decision to move the festival.
Our new home is Axis, located at 13 Lansdowne Street in Boston's Kenmore Square (directly across the street from historic Fenway Park). If you are coming by car, there are parking lots on and near Lansdowne Street, as well as metered street parking all around the Kenmore Square area. Axis is also very close to major bus routes (#57, #64, and others), subway ("Kenmore" stop on the Green Line), and commuter tail ("Fenway").
2. STAGES
Axis, like the Middle East, has its stages on two different floors with a short staircase to connect them. There are five minutes of "travel time" between each set, but if you have any specific needs (i.e. wheelchairs, etc), please contact us beforehand!
3. EXTRA GOODIES!!!
There will be a semi-official "welcome party" on Thursday October 10 at the Linwood Grille , 69 Kilmarnock Street in Boston (across from the other side of Fenway Park). Have a beer, chat a bit, and listen to the sounds of Giants Dance (ex-members of Abunai!), Pat Orchard, Awakening Stick, The Squall (ex-members of Abunai! and Bright), and Cul de Sac. This is open to the public and costs only $6.
We hope you like the new home. See you all soon!
OCTOBER 2, 2002 UPDATE: Hey folks. As of this writing, Terrastock 5 is less than 9 days away! We hope you're as excited as we are. Here are a few quick announcements/updates:
