Another early adoption for the Ptolemaic Terrascope were the Flaming Lips. I'd already written a piece eulogising them for Bucketfull of Brains magazine back in 1987, and when the Terrascope was launched the following year we were sure to follow their progress right from issue one - Fred Mills, who I'd first got to know through working at the Bucketfull, was one of the first regular feature writers "employed" at the Terrascope (though in truth, we all did it purely for the love of it...), and it was he who kindly arranged the following interview, which took place on the eve of their first ever UK gig. The following interview was first published in Ptolemaic Terrascope issue 4 in May 1990 and has remained unseen ever since.... (Phil McMullen, November 2009)
